The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of
women whose Purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole
persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship;
and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global
ministries of the church.
UMW and its predecessors have been organized for mission for more than 140
years. It is one of the largest women's organizations in the world.
United Methodist Women members come together in the same spirit of love that
brought together Jesus and his disciples. As disciples in today's world,
the UMW sisterhood extends grace to each other and works together for justice
for all, especially women, youth and children.
The Trinity UMW unit is active and invites all women of the church to join in
the ministries and activities of this group. You do not need to be a
member of Trinity UMC to participate.
There are four general meetings a year, usually one each quarter, which
are open to all women.
Two smaller groups or "circles" are organized as well. See the
sidebar to the right for details on when the circles meet.
Our programs are many and varied, local, and beyond the local church into all
the world. For more information, please call Edna Sherrow, Trinity UMW President, or the
church office, 862-4169.
